AN OLD STORY IN AFRICA - The reason I attached Africa to my subject is because I have learned not to spread myself thin in whatever I get involved with. Human trafficking is another name for SLAVE TRADING. Its caused by poverty and fueled by poverty. Both abductors and their captors are from very poor background......do your homework and you'll see.

Basically those trafficked are literally sold to their task masters. They are brought in with no passports or travel documents on them and then forced to work [sex or labour] till they can eventually derive enough funds for a payback. Its the worst type of BONDAGE.

My thinking is to BUILD AN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN in each major affected country like Nigeria, Sudan, Liberia, etc. on nationwide television stations that would meaningfully expose the dangers [many of the captors loose their lives] especially in the PROSTITUTION market-area. The whole idea is to expose the dark side of it all. Conduct a few secret interviews with captors and even those who work for the ring of Abductors and Task Masters.

More importantly, from the developing country there should be a TASK FORCE that is supported by International Bodies like the UN....EU....WORLD BANK...MULTINATIONALS etc., using plain cloth investigators at ALL the International Airports and Borders. Equiped with cameras and vehicles. You cannot fight a lucrative illegal business [any type] with just a few good men. Money talks and B------t walks. Whatever you do must be effectively implemented.

But I strongly beleve a CAMPAIGN ABOUT ITS DANGERS would prove effective using hidden confessions and a few true stories. Rehabilitation programs of those rescued [e.g using vocational training schools] and bringing in the society to accept them with job creation. Its a stigma to those who are ashamed to return and leave the racket. They need public and work acceptance for reunion with their families.

I strongly believe that tackling this subject now would save a lot in the future because there is an increasing trend in the trade. Its growing bigger as IMMIGRATION LAWS get tougher in the Western [Developed] Nations of North America, The European Union, The Middle East, South Korea, Japan and Australia. I would like to see a governing board initiated at THE VIENNA FORUM and having a representative from ALL [at least most] countries of the UN.

Look for people who are educated, well traveled, international exposure, available for work and intelligent with foresight......who think ahead. Most importantly......search for those who simply love mankind and FEAR GOD. Then have such people recruit a team for each country based on these characteristics. And have them trained and well paid to discourage bribe and derailing the force.

Just my way of getting things done with a result orientation and a lasting effect. Not repeating the past methods of funding ONLY govenrment agencies in developing countries. Where corrupt official are celebrated and promoted for cooperating.
